Cemetery - 01

The earliest grave belongs to Major Jonas Fauche, a Revolutionary War soldier who commanded Greene County military operations during the Creek Raids of 1780.

This cemetery is the final resting place for numerous prominent figures in Georgia's history. Notable individuals interred here include Governor Peter Early, who led Georgia during the Creek War of 1813-1814, and Jeremiah Sanford, a Revolutionary War soldier and close friend of George Washington, serving under him during the siege of Yorktown.
